Noticing + Noting: Risk + Monkey Mind
Welcome to my journal space.
A peaceful, online studio to pin things to the wall, record musings and invite you in to check out ink experiments, ongoing research and documenting the world around me.
For now I am putting the kettle on, organising my books and sharpening pencils in this online domain. Sussing out what goes where. There will be more to come. It’s a bit quieter over here than on The ‘Gram so we’ll see what emerges after some looking out of the window, chewing through personal and political. .
The peaceful writing spot in the photograph above was my studio space for a short time while living in a shepherd’s hut in an oak woodland in the Welsh Marches. Kind landlady Penny invited me to set up a thinking and working space here outside of my shed home. Just having the mental space to enter, sit and reach for notebooks and pens was a much needed gift.
A room of one’s own.
I am currently on the hunt for my next studio and thinking space. Somewhere to grow The NATURAL INK Project.
After three months unexpectedly hauled up on the mid-wales coast WITH A SHED (it is all about sheds) at my disposal, the need for this room to be, think and make has been reaffirmed. Much oozes out when the space is made to hold it. To build The NATURAL INK Project from under the sycamore tree, with the sound track of blackbird, occasional chainsaw and wasps scratching at window sills gathering wood fibres for their nest.
